I understand the lack of posting. I promise that this last semester was the most RIDICULOUS semester of the 10 that I attended. I will also post a highlights of the semester soon.

I am just posting right now because I just learned I passed the 2nd section of the CPA exam. By the grace of God only.

That and Europe: The Sequel was again out of control and I loved it. I am back with a beer belly to prove it.

Thursday will be my final performance at the Texas Music Educators Convention. Third times a charm, I guess. Plus, I get the timpani solo that I always wanted to end the concert. I guess I couldnt be a luckier person! Kinda sad that my musical side of life will be coming to an end soon and theres nothing I can do about it. You can't hold on to everything.

I went to an aerobics class where we just did exercises on the big bouncy yoga balls. It was much more fun than just the usual classes! The next time I did step aerobics, which was a laughable experience.

I am excited about this weekend. Paris and I are having a hot date at the Kodo Drummers concert. Then, Evan, Nathan, and Lauren will all be here! It will be a good break. This doesnt seem like a real week!

Its a sad day around here when my bulk supply of mac and cheese runs out. I just walk around the kitchen in a groggy haze in the mornings now. What am I going to do for breakfast? Finally, I have found a solution (at least, until I get to go to the grocery store again).

Scrambled eggs + my new favorite spice, Coriander. Its good! Maybe some toast.

Yesteday morning, I thought it would be good to start my day with an aerobics class instead of trying to go work out in the evening when I had a lot of other stuff to worry about. Cycling class at 6:30 am? Its not happening again. Not since my freshman year have I struggled to stay awake in class at 3 in the afternoon.

The tellers of Bank of America in any College Station location are a bunch of jerks and/or idiots.

I havent updated in quite a while now. I hear your complaints and will try to start it up again this semester.

For now, I am taking Yoga as a kines class with Paris. I am not sure that its something that I would keep doing it religiously after college, but I have found it really educational these past few weeks. I have realized how unflexible I am in certain muscles, especially in my legs, where I never noticed before. I also am motivated to sign up for the exercise class pass at the rec center this semester so I can keep it up and really improve on these things. I think I will have lots (well, not lots, but relatively to the past lots) of extra time this semester, only taking nine hours and all, so hopefully I will get my money's worth!

I am taking 9 hours, like I said, which will seem much better than 15 like last semester. I am going to be a teaching assistant for "income tax" and am really looking forward to that as well. It will be more work than my other TA jobs, but the work will be productive for me and I think I will learn a lot from doing it! I am also, of course, anticipating Relay for Life later in the semester, our band trips to TMEA in San Antonio/Europe, and my last percussion studio show. When I think about it, it makes me sad that its all coming to an end so soon. I couldnt imagine what college would be like without being involved in these groups!

After the semester draws to a close, I will be moving up to Dallas. I guess I need to figure out that "where" sometime this semester. I also have to worry about moving myself out, I have already begun selling things that I dont need on Ebay and actually have found it to be a profitable venture. I also will have to look into selling my piano--something that I really dread doing--but there is no way that I can move it by myself and it would be really expensive to have someone else do. I think that investing in a smaller, electronic piano after I graduate would give me the ability to keep up my playing. I actually do practice still!

I am still dating Evan and everything with that is wonderful! It will be a little more difficult this semester with him many hours away, but I dont have any reservations about it at the same time. I see it as an extended summer. Over the break, I went to go see his family in St. Louis and we visited the arch, the local market, and the Budweiser factory. I also got to hear his grandpa's stories--lots of them! For New Year's, we hung out in Keller with Nathan and some friends. Highlight of the trip was our construction paper new years hats and getting to see those guys again. At least when I am in Dallas, meeting Nathan wont be as big of an endeavor as it is now!

Thats about it for now, I guess. I need to finish writing up my yoga "reflections" journal--weeeeee.

Thanks, and gig 'em.

There are lots of times in your life when you might question "why?" Why as in, why now? Why this? Why this and now? Why not? And for all those unanswerable questions that you might be asking, just remember, God is not a "plug figure" to fill in those blanks in your life. He may have set up your life, He may be there to comfort you, He may even be the reason why you are asking those questions to begin with. But, do not just accept and answer like "Oh, its His doing" He is not the answer. You are.

There is no perfect human. Therefore, there is no perfect life. And I firmly believe that everyone brings everything upon themselves.

In other words, my visine bottle is halfway empty. Halfway through the semester? Yep. 16 hours was a bad choice. I am literally working on things from 8 am until around midnight, then I wake up and work some more. I have stuff on the weekends, too. Thankfully, Evan is understanding (although he may call me a nerd daily) and is a good pillow when I am stressed. I enjoy all of my classes (well, some more than others) and my groups too though, so its not terrible. I hate being around people who genuinely dont want to be in school anymore. I secretly dont want to leave.

I got a Kroger gift certificate for my birthday from my parents. It sounds lame, but trust me, its awesome!! I have bought all sorts of neat food to try and cook now. Dont worry, though. I still eat mac and cheese for breakfast. Oh yeah, and Sam Adams light is gooooooood.

I havent been to northgate or any parties all semester. What a loser.

I just spent the last 20 minutes dancing around my room to Tower of Power instead of studying for my exam tomorrow. Funk music at 2 am does that to a person.

You know you're getting old when you look forward to coming home to a bottle of wine and the label reads: "Perfectly paired with bingo, bridge, shuffleboard, and other delightful senior events"

Wow. Here's to the approaching bday!

After a long and fun weekend with Nathan and Lauren in town, I finally got home this evening anticipating taking a nice long shower and heading to bed. As I was undressing in my bathroom, I walked over to my vanity and almost screamed. Sitting at the bottom of my sink, staring at me curiously with tiny pink eyes, was a gecko. Who knows how on earth it got on my bathroom. Or, which of us blushed more over the fact that I was standing before it completely nude.

We had a staring contest and he didnt seem like he was going to move so I went ahead and took a shower anyways. Afterwards, I chased him around the bathroom (those little guys can MOVE!) and finally captured him in my blank CD tower cover. Then, I showed him to the front patio.

Anyways, thats my random story for the week.

I just wanted to post a little something to take a break from the norm.

School has been shaping up to be a challenging semester. Its just tough to come to class completely prepared which is something you can let slide in earlier classes. Though my classes dont start until the afternoon, I find myself getting up early in the morning in order to study ahead of time and get things done around the house. For the first time since I have lived here, our house is in excellent order and I like it a lot. I guess being in a clean home reminds me of being at home.

This past weekend, Evan and I went to see Kris in Kyle. We went and saw the Army game in the Alamodome. Though the game was more stressful than needed, I will never complain to watch an Aggie sporting event inside, under and A/C unit, sitting, while consuming a frosty beverage. It was also fun to spend time with Kris. Wow! She's getting married! How awesome.

Other roadtrips of the semester will include up to Oklahoma to see Nathan & Lauren (and of course, the Aggies BTHO OSU) and the t.u. game in Austin. Camping out for tickets proved fruitful, as we are on row one at that game. Perhaps I will come up with a sign that says something catchy in order to land myself on national TV. Its funny what motivates people when they think they be on TV, come to think of it. I would also like to go skiing, but with the crazy weather patterns lately I will hold off and see what snowfall looks like at the start of winter. Most definitely will be going over spring break, at least.

Other than the usual schoolwork, I spend most of my time thinking about: food, evan, grading papers, studio, not biting my nails, and money.

I dont watch any TV these days, but I do keep up with shows that are TIVO'd or Netflix'd by Evan. So far we are halfway through Season Two of The Office. Its pretty good once you get used to all of the characters and see how the show builds around them.

I'm sorry for being out of touch otherwise.

Hey wow, its been a little while. Well... as an update, the funniest thing thats happened to me in a while was the City of Bryan Department of Water Services calendar. Other than that, I desire anything other than class.

Thanks for reading.

Adam is going to bed before me! Thats amazing!

Maybe if I didnt take two naps today at Evan's house I'd be ready to go to bed too. An update is in order, perhaps soon.

I was just too amused by this article to not post it:

http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Music/07/21/people.timberlake.ap/index.html?section=cnn_topstories

And I quote:

Timberlake sang about their split in "Cry Me a River," from his top-selling 2002 solo debut, "Justified."

"I used my mind," he says. "I came up with a song."

wow. It must have been the first time he has EVER used his mind!

I had better write this quick because my laptop battery is at 20% remaining... and there's spider solitaire to play yet.

I have been travelling this past week which has been really nice. A great opportunity to not spend the money I am making. It is tough to eat out every meal though... I need to be more careful this week. I feel like I have been in a constant state of fullness all week. Kris, you would be glad to know that there ARE decent places to eat if you ask the locals.

Speaking of locals, the Little Rock experience has also proved all of my stereotypes of the state true. We had fun people watching at bars and restaurants just at the clientele coming in and out. There was also a fun experience of a redneck getting off of the plane in Little Rock who felt like he needed to announce his joy of returning home to everyone in the terminal... and all the way down the terminal.

Stevie Nicks just came on Pandora and I thought of School of Rock. Jack Black's only redeeming piece of art.

Went to MW this weekend and visited with Evan and his family. Like every weekend, I couldnt have asked for a better time. This is good stuff.

AND the news of the day is that I will be going and seeing PAUL FREAKING SIMON next weekend. I wont be able to sit still all week long in anticipatory delight (thanks, Kaveh, for that phrase).

Ok, time to pack up. I hit the road once again in just a few hours.

I've never noticed the picture feature before and just wanted to see if it'd work. Here's a random enough picture. Thats the water that eventually becomes Jack Daniels, if it isnt already obvious.

Yay.

The one thing that sucks about having a job is I know that I will never be able to post exactly what I want ever again. I now have to sensor for friends, ex-boyfriends, parents, classmates, and co-workers. It makes me not even want to bother anymore... but I know that it is still a useful thing to at least keep track of whats been going on in my life (for my sake).

Last night I was talking to Evan on the phone in my (er, Hicks') room when the lights went out. I heard that familiar "gshhh" sound and it was apparent that Harry thought it would be a good time to show me his lightsabers. They're pretty cool actually.

Today, the cops came into the backyard and discovered us in the act of setting off fireworks and mortars in the backyard. Where its illegal. During a burn ban. When asked, Mrs. Hicks came out in her nightgown and said she didnt think it was a big deal. I was struggling to stifle my tears of laughter.

They had fireworks because they were remnants of the fourth of july weekend. What did I do for the fourth? I went and picked blueberries and blackberries in a field in Poynor, Texas with Evan and Nathan. Evan made a badass tart with the blackberries we didnt snack on. Then we went and watched drunk gay people try to set off $700 in fireworks.

I am about to spend 3 weeks in Little Rock. I wont be able to find anywhere to eat, Im sure.

In short, my life is random to the highest degree right now.
